Greetings from Vietnam!
Though society is largely a distraction for what I want to do — I must indulge. Just like monkeys eat bananas, Leo must imbibe in worldly affairs.
Saigon Nightlife. I chose Vietnam to visit a college friend. She took me to Bui Vien, the largest party street. Neon lights, Window Dancers and Firebreathers — quite Cyberpunk / Blade Runner esque. I spent $895.06 on laughing gas balloons, aka “30-second psychedelics”.
Sa Pa Mountains. A weekend excursion to the mountain town of Sa Pa in Northern Vietnam. A hike, followed by glamping (“glamorous camping”), then an assortment of meat: buffalo, horse, hedgehog, pig ears, and chicken cartilage.
A Beautiful Relationship. Recently, I came across this dialogue. Every time I read it, I’m stopped dead in my tracks. I can’t help but feel it’s true.
Q: What else leads to a peaceful relationship? A: The abandonment of need. Q: But if two individuals don't need each other, what is the point of a relationship? A: Two individuals who need each other will only have conflict. They can never have a relationship. Q: The things you're speaking are exactly the opposite of everything I've ever heard. A: I understand. Q: So if there's no need, what binds them together? A: The enjoyment of each other's company.
A Beautiful Life. When you internalize “you are not your thoughts”, a peace emerges. When things become effortless, you live a life of poetry instead of prose.
World Gifter. I’ve been sitting on this idea for a while. What if I sent people gifts from all over the world? I love the challenge of finding a perfect gift; I view it as a supreme act of creation.
